The Rules

Please read these because if you don't we will know, and not reading these will result in a most painful death. Also, breaking any of these rules will result in an even more painful death. Also note we change/add things to the rules from time to time. We suggest to check them once in a while to ensure you are up to date on what's is and isn't allowed.

1. It is required to have a first and last name on this site for your display/screen name. Once your character has been accepted go into the modify section of your profile and change the name. Do this also once you have been accepted for a Canon character. Do not change the name until you have been approved. Also, DO NOT post ANYWHERE until you have been approved. You may reserve a celebrity, but that is IT. No OOC boards, not a thing. Got it?

2. No racist, sexist or prejudiced remarks, please. No OOC prejudice. Keep the filth off our board. Plzkthx.

3. Don't even try to talk back to us. Also, don't get all pissy if you aren't accepted at first. We'd like to make this the best RPG boarding school site we possibly can, so please try your best to make it so.

4. Please use proper punctuation, grammar and spelling. We won't lurk all over and freak out if your posts aren't perfect, but at least try. Please, please, please don't start every sentence with the subject. It's so redundant and drives us nuts. Sentence variety, please.

5. No one liners. Writer's block happens to us all, but don't make it a habit to do this:

Adam walked up and said, "hey."

That is quite possibly one of the most pathetic posts. Ever. As English teachers always say: Details, details, details! Write about anything that could make it a brilliant post and would impress JK Rowling herself. Write what your character is thinking, saying, doing, feeling, and write about the character's surroundings. Make it good, folks. Another reminder: RP in third person! If you don't know what third person is... I pity you.

A fabulous example of a good post is here:

Draco walked down the corridor, rolling his eyes at the Mudbloods that seemed to be flooding Hogwarts nowadays. Crabbe and Goyle were nowhere to be seen at the moment. They were probably in the Great Hall stuffing their faces once again. Catching a glimpse of Potter, his lips drew back in a sneer. If there was one person he despised in this world, it was Potter. He had been the curse of his family... if it wasn't him, the Dark Lord wouldn't have targeted him or his father. It was all Potter's fault. And this time, Potter was alone. Good. Slipping his wand out of his pocket, he gave it a small flick and muttered a spell under his breath, transfiguring one of the flowerpots into a rat. Immediately, the rat raced under Potter's foot, and as he tried to maneuver around it, Potter lost his balance and fell over one of the flowerpots, causing the others to be knocked over in a row. Couldn't have worked out better. Stepping up to the fallen student, the sneer was still visible as he spoke. "Defacing school property, Potter? That's 50 points from Gryffindor." Turning swiftly away, a smile finally touched his lips. Bad deed of the day... completed.

Try your best to write as well as that on our board, please. Also note that posts longer than that are VERY, VERY welcome! Just don't get any shorter as any less would give someone little to reply with.

6. No Internet chat lingo. When speaking out of character it's okay to let slip an "lol" but it sickens me when people use it when RPing. Do you walk up to your friends and say, "el oh el"!? No! So, don't make dear Harry "lol" to Hermione. Also, remember to use brackets [] or parenthesis () when speaking Out of Character.

7. NO Mary Sues. Not one character in any novel is all powerful, so your character on here shall not be all powerful. All people have strengths and weaknesses, so make sure your character has those as well. Having a beautiful, strong, brave and witty character that is kind to animals and has the power of 20 men or women combined is NOT acceptable. 8. All characters shall be regular old humans. That means no vampires, werewolves, Veelas, seers, parsel mouths, occlumens, legillimens, metamorphmaguses, animaguses, etc. The only exception is if you are a Canon character with those powers, or you PM us and we make an arrangement. We will be checking all character biographies, so don't try and slip it in hoping we won't notice.

9. We will not tolerate GODmoding! This is when you say what happens to another character or refuse to lose or get injured. So, make sure you ONLY control your character.

10. NO relatives of Canons unless it says so on the Canon list. The secret word is jade. Any character on the list is fabulous, but you may not make up random siblings for them.

11. Profanity is allowed, but don't be overly obscene. Unless you're a rad, ebil Queen Bee. Then, go to town? Also, for sexually explicit RP, please post in the title mature content so others can be forewarned. Because, you know, us cool people like to have a lot of sex and such. o_o If you and your partner want to whatever alone then PM us and we'll see about making you a password protected forum.

12. NO unauthorized killing of characters.

13. Have fun! This is supposed to be a fun place for people to hang out and RP.

Also, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE do not mess with the plot. By this we mean posting in a topic clearly meant for someone other than you. If a topic has another member's name in the subject like this: [name] or this: (name) Do. Not. Post. There. Got it? Okay. If there is no name in the title then it is open, so go ahead and post!

We will only allow everyone to have 1 (ONE) character each due to the small amount of Canons. Thank you.
